The house is designated historic by the Manchester Historical Society and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The Wickham House was originally built in 1790 as a tavern and later purchased in 1837 by Rev. Dr. Joseph Wickham, legendary headmaster of Burr and Burton. The spectacular historic home has since been renovated to meet the needs of the modern family.
