3 Bedroom Cottage in Willoughby Spit, Norfolk

Come enjoy our Historic single level Beach Side Cottage. This home is one of the original Ocean View Cottages built in the 1950's. We feature 2 Master Bedrooms with Queen size beds and 3 Twin beds in the 3rd bedroom for the kids. Additional sleepers (little ones) can sleep on the couches if needed.
We have high speed WiFi and a large 75 inch Smart TV for your streaming entertainment.
This Historic property was originally built in 1950. It is one of the few original flat top houses that still survives in this Chesapeake Bay neighborhood. Everything is on one level. We have a large yard that can easily handle parking for multiple vehicles including boat or travel trailers.
We have a beautiful fireplace and warm radiator heat that immediately takes away the chill.
Our full size kitchen is stocked and ready to prepare your meals if dining in. We have two dining tables to accommodate larger groups. We also have two bathrooms with showers, Both recently renovated.
We are located right on a public beach access. No roads to cross, just walk out the door and you have a 90 second walk to our wonderful Chesapeake Bay beach. We are not far from the Ocean View Fishing Pier.
Parking is right outside your door and we also have a combination door lock, so that you can check yourself in and out at your leisure.
We are pet friendly with a small pet fee of $99.
The unit comes with a charcoal grill, which is located under cover in the lattice covered terrace or porch.
Our large kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need if you choose to prepare your own meals.
If you have a boat or watercraft, bring it! We have plenty of parking space and are close to a very nice public boat ramp.
Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 70 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. Our bathrooms are not as large as modern built, but even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming home.
This is a Family/Residential unit and area. No loud music or noise. Quiet hours begin at 9 PM.

Summary: Hosts were very accommodating & the location is great. Beds were great & I slept wonderfully. Window AC units in each room make it very comfortable. Plenty of beds for large groups (but check about extra charges. I am not sure why, but we were charged an extra person charge of 120 But there were only six of us.) This is a long review but I think there’s a lot to share. Please read all of it. My purpose is to make sure people are aware of what they are getting when they book. This home was a shock to us at first but felt more comfortable the longer we stayed (4 nights). We’ve travelled a lot with a different vacation rental company. This was our first time with VRBO. Our previous experiences have been a lot different than it was with this property. When we first walked in, we were all disappointed as it felt very gloomy (not a lot of lighting or windows) and very dated (which we knew it would be). Things just felt thrown together, mismatched curtains, throw pillows, broken furniture, etc. all of our previous experiences were in homes meticulously maintained, and decorated. They felt luxurious. This felt far from those experiences. BUT THIS WAS SEVERAL HUNDRED CHEAPER a night than our previous beach homes. We were able to do what we needed (cook, sleep, bathe and relax), play games at the table as a family,and quickly get to the beach. Since I can't write a book, this reference might help: felt like a Motel 6 stay vs a Hilton or Marriott stay.
