Summary: I booked through hotels.com and got charged once through that service then again but yhe hotel. It was a bit of a hassle to have to try to track down getting the 2nd hotel charge refunded...I still haven't received the email notification from the hotel that there will in fact be a refund. The hotel attendant just swiped my card 2x and said oh that's weird instead of trying to problem solve the issue at the time of check-in.
